Breaking News! Canada’s major airlines suspended

Canada’s major airlines are suspending all flights to the Caribbean and Mexico from Sunday Jan. 31 to April 30, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said today.

Trudeau said the deal agreed to by Air Canada, WestJet, Sunwing and Air Transat.

The Prime Minister also said that, starting next week, all international flights will be allowed to land only in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal, and that, “as soon as possible,” all passengers will have to take a PCR test after arriving in Canada.

Arriving passengers will then have to wait for test results for up to three days at an approved hotel. Trudeau said those stays will cost $2,000.

If a passenger tests negative they can go home for the rest of their 14-day quarantine, where there will be extended enforcement. Anyone who tests positve will have to spend the rest of their quarantine at a government approved facility, the PM said.

Trudeau also said mandatory testing is coming to Canada’s land borders.

Details will be laid out in the coming days.

The Liberal government in Ottawa earlier this month said that all passengers age five and over who want to visit Canada must present a negative PCR COVID-19 test before they fly. Tests must be taken within 72 hours of a scheduled flight.

Transat Suspends YYZ Flights

In light of the continuing challenges the travel industry is facing, Transat has made the difficult decision to suspend all flight operations from Toronto for the remainder of our winter season effective January 28 – April 30, 2021.

Travellers affected by these cancellations who paid for their flight or vacation package with cash or credit card will receive a full refund. If the form of payment was a Future Travel Credit, that credit will be reinstated. In either situation agents do not have to contact us, the files will be adjusted automatically.

Please be assured that passengers currently in destination will be rebooked on flights returning to Canada.

Welcome 2021

Good Monday Morning!

I hope you all had a nice weekend and ended the holiday season with some fun!

Today we unofficially turn the page on a new year.  A new year that will start with so much uncertainty and anxiety for many.  I for one had a very difficult weekend and I think it is important for you all to know this.  I am human just like you.  I have good days and bad days.  I have long stretches sometimes of good days and bad days.  When I started this page I told myself that I want to always be genuine and real with everyone that follows this page.  Your support of me has allowed me to continue to be honest without fear of being judged and for that I am thankful.  If I was to come on here week after week and say that everything is great and that everything is going to be fine, I would hope after awhile you would question my authenticity, I know I would lol lol!

It is not my job right now to sell you travel.  As hard as that is to type it is the truth.  A winter vacation is just not in the cards for this year and that has got to be the deal.  Are people booking for beyond the winter season and into 2022 right now?  Yes!!!  Are people dreaming about their bucket list trips when the green light is given to travel again?  ABSOLUTELY!!!  My job right now is to keep you updated and informed on the ever-changing rules and regulations and making sure that when travel comes back you are in the best hands possible to book that trip.

The physical and mental health of all of us during this pandemic has been and will always be my #1 goal to address.  Posting about different destinations around the world I hope has helped made you dream about what will happen again one day and at the same time make you appreciate the things that maybe we have taken for granted before this situation began.

When the time comes to book travel again I hope you reach out to me and let me help you.  Let me be the one who makes sure your experience is the best it can possibly be.  Let me be the one who makes sure you are going to a destination that is safe and that all the check boxes have been ticked off.  It just makes no sense booking online anymore.  If you do not see the value of a travel agent after COVID you should probably stop following this page.

The expertise, knowledge and time they put into helping you book a trip is priceless and should something unexpected happen, the relationships they have with the airlines, resorts and places they book for you can save you BIG time.

If you have made it to the end of this post, THANK YOU   I appreciate all the support this community of people on this page has shown me and I would love it more than ever if you would share this post on your own page and to tell your friends and family who travel about me and my small business.

Even though it was a hard weekend for me, my life experiences have shown me that I am going to make it through this.  I may not know how right now and I may not have all the answers today, but I am passionate about travel and know this is where I am meant to be.

Have an awesome day and thank you again for all your support!
